SAFEGUARDING GOD'S CHILDREN

Safeguarding God's Children is a training program developed by the Church Pension Group and Praesidium Religious Services that specializes in prevention of sexual abuse of children, youth and adults.The Diocese of Atlanta expects churches in the diocese to use this training program and/or the new Armatus Online program to make their clergy, staff, volunteers, church leaders and other members aware of the problem of child sexual abuse and how they can use well defined strategies to prevent its occurance. This training must e completed before someone can attend any Diocesan Youth Event.


YOUTH LEADER MEETINGS
Every other month the youth leaders get together for lunch at a local Atlanta restaurant. These gatherings are to connect, talk about upcoming events, network, discuss topics and share ideas.

MINISTRY FAIR
Each March the Diocese sponsors a Diocesan-wide Ministry Fair.  The day consists of a morning gathering, three workshop sessions with lunch and concludes with a closing worship service.

YOUTH LEADERS CONFERENCE

This yearly training conference is provided to support youth leaders/volunteers and their ministry.  It's a time for learning, community building, networking and spiritual reflection.  Registration Form.


NEW BEGINNINGS SPONSOR

A Sponsor is responsible for contacting participants from their Parish, making sure the participant knows what to bring to the weekend, arranging a prayer partner, attending the weekend as a participant and chaperone.  Note: Each Parish sending youth to the weekend must send Sponsors. HAPPENING TEAM

Moms and Dads are needed to attend a Happening weekend to be chaperones in the cabins and do some behind the scenes work.  Moms and Dads must have attended a Happening weekend as a Geritol. Visit the Happening Site.
